Manuka pool is the oldest public swimming pool in Canberra and the most popular among locals.
In 2019 the pool underwent many upgrades and maintenance work, a part of which was replacing the tiles in the pool. The requirements for them were rather specific. The tiles needed to be sympathetic to the original, traditional aesthetic, but correspond to current slip-resistance standards.
The most suitable tiles were found and sourced from the Czech Republic. Now Australians can swim in a pool lined with tiles all the way from the Czech Republic.
