Large collection of Czech community newspapers handed over to Libri Prohibiti Library in Prague

Publishing community magazines and newspapers already has a long tradition on the distant continent of Australia.

At the beginning of March in 2020 a large collection of such magazines was handed over to the library Libri Prohibiti in Prague. The collected added to their already extensive existing collection. Among the magazines that were handed over were titles such as Věstník, Kvart, Krajanský list, Klokan, Život, Na slovíčka and Noviny, with issues reaching back all the way to 2008.

The sheer size of the collection that was handed over is a testament to the activity of Czech community groups from all over Australia. We can only hope that similar publications will continue to be produced and publish for a long time to come.
